Supporting research into treatments and a potential cure for Shwachman Diamond Syndrome
Shwachman Diamond Project, Ltd. was established in 2005 as a 501(c)3 charitable organization with a mission of fund raising to support research into treatments and a potential cure for Shwachman Diamond Syndrome and other bone marrow failure syndromes. In keeping with this mission, the organization works to encourage cord blood collection and funds related research projects. Since the most current treatments for bone marrow failure syndromes include cord blood transplants, the Project will be involved in educating the public as to the benefits of cord blood donations and working to expand and standardize cord blood retrieval.
Since its inception, SDP has funded many research projects, including the development of the Shwachman Diamond Registry at the Dana Farber Boston Children’s Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
If interested in obtaining funding for research, please review and download our Grant Request.
